andyhorry A delicately written album with very intimate and human concepts shared. Love it! I also really appreciate how well the songwriting holds up with such a stripped back approach of mainly just piano and voice. Favorite track: Electricity.
Was Ist Das?
Was Ist Das? thumbnail
Was Ist Das? I came for the Laibach connection and found exactly why Laibach recruited them. An astonishing range of moods meets a virtuoso range and an exquisite lightness of touch. How could I resist a title like this at a time like this? I just can't stop playing it over and over and over Favorite track: Electricity.

Hunger 04:58
When we kiss we tend to bite We kiss, devoured by our appetite But kisses and dreams and all the works of art They just cannot feed the human heart Darling, this hunger cannot be appeased Every time our lips meet on hunger we feast Darling, this famine It is who we are A man deprived of hunger is destined to starve Hunger's why a kiss is sweet It's why the slightest touch becomes a treat
2.
Sing 04:44
He gets high on self control To conceal an addict's soul Sing, you fool Howl at the moon Relieve your heart beating out of tune Sing, you fool Try your best to find your voice, to ransom your head A hostage of noise He speaks to drown the sound of his voice He's chosen not to choose Unless he has no choice Sing, you fool Howl at the moon Relieve your heart beating out of tune Sing, you fool Only when you find your voice will you reclaim your head infested with noise
3.
Silkskin 03:39
I sat down by your side and stayed there all through the night I watched you sleep Watched you breathe Watched the pale moon arrive and leave White and pure as mother's milk Your skin was soft and smooth just like silk No matter how hard I try I'm unable to describe the landscapes that I've seen while exploring the land of silken skin
4.
Little baby, we're intrepid pioneers Chiselled and toughened by our ceaseless quest for Nothing Can't you see, girl? We are fearless mountaineers Climbing by bluffing and reaching peaks of Nothing Baby, we're simply dreamers of a different kind Claiming that Nothing can be signed, sold and even left behind Here we are now, conquering the last frontier Huffing and puffing toward the very heart of Nothing Sweetest baby, there's no room for mutineers For those rebuffing the brilliance of Nothing
5.
Naïf 02:31
I know that look I know that smile Those honied words Shaped to lull and beguile Although they're not to be believed Experience teaches me to be naïve Kiss me, go ahead I'll ignore the cost Reason's good when used, best when lost I will play along I've everything to gain - You might prove I'm wrong So be my guest Tighten the noose Who wants to win a game you cannot lose? Although I believe in disbelief Experience teaches me to be naïve
6.
I know you think it's frightening to be struck by lightning but what am I to do? I just love to be hit by you I know it can be frightful But the feeling is delightful I'm a lightning rod by choice every time I hear your voice Your touch sends shivers running down my spine Electricity of the finest kind Your kiss makes lightnings fire off in my head I'm smouldering with love I'm terribly glad Oh so glad Very glad Although they're sometimes frightening I'm crazy about lightnings Mighty and from up above Come to think of it - much like love I watch the clouds gather I love this stormy weather Little darling, I'm feeling blessed I just hope the forecast lasts
7.
Electricity 03:13
Let us dance among the stars Let us carve our names on Mars Seeing that we hold the key - We are electricity We are more than meets the eye So much more than meets the eye The head is closest to the sky The mind - the cheapest way to fly Dreams, thoughts, ideas - can't you see? We are electricity
8.
Isn't it strange, Love? Isn't it charmingly deranged? I am human, I should crave for things I don't deserve but I'm afraid of your love I just need a touch of pain Just a shot of self-disdain to withstand your love Wish me well, love Wish me what's best for me - wish me hell For as long as I'm a failure I can handle success I can stand feeling blessed
9.
It's a lie, the grin you wear You think your face is standing trial But I can face the truth, I'm not the world Please don't smile I am in love with your sadness with the grace of your despair You stand tall above the rest Lifted by the cross you bear My little heart of darkness You shine brightly when you wane Wear no jewelry but your tears Nothing can outshine your pain People's pity can be vile Blunt and cruel as a child I won't degrade you with compassion Please don't smile You wear a face to save your face Cloak your features with denial But I can face the face you hide Please don't smile
10.
Life is compromise Even in death - the rule applies Her tricky bliss, unfeeling kiss; Death is New York That's why we say "that's life" when someone dies and dream of hells like paradise To have it all and not recall; Death is New York Smiles like alibis We fight the dark armed with white lies and face the facts with our backs; Death is New York Faith is the ability to grasp at straws To think of death as Santa Claus We stand in awe despite her flaws; Death is New York
11.
Let us dance among the stars Let us carve our names on Mars Seeing that we hold the key - We are electricity We are more than meets the eye So much more than meets the eye The head is closest to the sky The mind - the cheapest way to fly Dreams, thoughts, ideas - can't you see? We are electricity Baby, who needs eyes to see? We are electricity
12.
We are as one I mean alone We burn with love that's cold as stone Wearing silk over skin and bones Living all lives Except our own Yeah, yeah The world's on fire We're cold as ice At war with hope At peace with lies Blinded by our very eyes Slaves of need Kings of vice We demand to be heard If only we had something to say We've never been right but we're doing it our way We've got it all, though it is on loan A heaven to sell and hell to pay We forgot the past, misplaced the future There's nothing beyond today
